Day 7: I am thankful for a full fridge, stocked pantry, grocery store 5 minutes away, and the luxury of picking up the phone and ordering a pizza. How truly blessed we are that we have no worries of where our next meal will come from. Millions of people in this world will never experience the abundance of food that is often so easy for us to take for granted. Sadly, I sometimes give no more than a simple before meal prayer of thanksgiving for the food that nourishes, sustains, and pleases (hello chocolate ice cream) me.
Day 8: I am thankful for my warm house. Tonight as I
worked over an hour honing my best former girl scout skills started a fire in the fireplace I took a moment to reflect on all that I have been given. It is also a bonus that Odette seems to love a roaring fire as much as I do. In her not so cute talking like a baby faze sweet voice she often asks to “turn fire on”. I have so many fond memories of sitting by the fire with my mom and look forward to those same conversations someday with Miss O.
